It seems that there is a competitive drive to stay one of the largest when it comes to being a high school gym in Indiana. Each year the rankings may change, as schools add seating capacity to stay relevant among the big boys. At one point, Indiana was home to 12 of the 13 largest high school gyms in the country. I got to coach in one of the facilities on this list this past summer (2022). The Southport Fieldhouse (Southport High School) hosted the 2022 Kentucky / Indiana All-Star games. For Kentucky fans, Southport was home to Louie Dampier, a member of Rupp's Runts, that played Texas Western in the 1966 NCAA National Championship game.
