I preferred to run this as a secondary action. I also liked to run this as a first-play-of-game, quarter, or half. It allowed me to scout in-game: 1) how are they guarding pin-downs 2) how are they guarding ballscreens 3) are they switching cuts?

This action needs to be a quick catch(by the 2) and pass-back to the PG. The 2 needs to catch and pass-back while on the move (cutting off the flare screen).

Normal ballscreen options on the side, utilizing your personnel. "Hook 2, 4-5 switch," may allow you to play pick-n-roll vs. pick-n-pop, depending on personnel (4 sets the ballscreen to pop for a 3FG, vs. 5 setting a ballscreen to roll to the block to post).

If the PG can't hit the 2 off the flare screen, then have the 2 touch the corner and have 5 set a wide pin-down (this would be a re-screen after he set the earlier flare screen). Don't over coach this 5-2 action... let them play in tandem either off screen action or ballscreen action.

Another option if the PG can't hit 2 off the flare screen, then have 2 touch the corner and come back to set a back-screen for 5 to curl back-side lob, then allowing 2 to pop off setting the screen and 5 posting.
