Coach Mays has spent 20+ years as a basketball coach at almost every level. However, he has been involved in several endeavors outside of hoops. He has led ministries, Non-profit and Municipal Boards, and consulted several sales teams and recruiting teams. He has worked as a financial advisor, and insurance agent, and an educator.
